About the Illustrator Alejandro Cruz

Alejandro Cruz (with Cal sweatshirt) graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder, with a degree in Biology. There he pursued studies in field biology, especially bird research. After graduating, he sampled a variety of science related paths including teaching and cancer research. Alejandro discovered the Graduate Program in Science Illustration while visiting the Monterey Bay. Always happiest when sketching a new bird, Alejandro was thrilled to get into the program. His dream is to one day illustrate and write a new field guide to the birds of the Caribbean. Alejandro will be interning at Archipelago Productions in Monterey.
